The Toughest Guy in the NHL Who Hated Fighting | Georges Laraque | Behind The Sound EP. 21

The icon, NHL tough guy, and Edmonton Oiler Alumni joins us just in time for EP. 21 as the Oilers are poised to tie the series in game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final. He’s back in Edmonton partnering on a new promotion with music icon Snoop Dogg called “Death Row Hockey”, which features the toughest tough guys in every city of their musical tour. Our good friend and friendly giant, Georges, popped into the studio to record a brand new Oilers anthem for all the fans in Edmonton called “We Want The Cup”, performed LIVE on Behind the Sound. Reunited in the studio for a second time, we actually created an Oilers anthem with Georges back in 2006 when the Oilers lost to the Hurricanes in the Stanley Cup Finals. We talk about his love for the game lived in things mostly outside of the game, how he actually hates fighting, how his angered hands virtually ended another player’s entire career, and exactly why he has become such a beloved icon of Edmonton Oiler fans and still calls Edmonton, home. This is one for the NHL books.
