Skiing Great Gulf and Tuckerman Ravine: Mother In Law Gully, Turkey Chute, Snowfields, The Chute

Another killer day on Mount Washington for day 83 of the season. Got to the Pinkham Notch Trailhead at about 6:30 yesterday morning (04/27/24) and it looked like the lot was completely full by the time we hit the trail. Had a nice skin up the TRT and booted up Right Gully just as the crowds started to enter the bowl. Enjoyed some sun on the skin up through the snowfields to the top of Great Gulf Ravine! Ian and I started the day off with Mother In Law Gully while Colby headed over to ski Airplane Gully. We definitely hit it a little early in the day before the sun softened it up, so we had some nice “loud pow” turns throughout. Still a super sick line and some really fun skiing! After that, I decided to poke around and see what else looked good and settled on Turkey Chute. Met some pals on top and then enjoyed another awesome line! I linked up with the other guys back on the long bootpack up Mother In Law, and then it was time to get back to Tuckerman Ravine for a more relaxing afternoon. Got some great turns in the Eastern Snowfields on the way and saw some adorable pups that somehow made it down Right Gully. Colby and Ian ripped Lobster Claw and I skied over into the line for The Chute (yes, a literal line, thanks to a crew bootpacking up the middle). I gave it about 5 minutes before I changed plans and did a quick 180 into the Chute Variation North which turned out to be awesome! Ran into some more friends at the bottom of the bowl and spent the rest of the day working on my tan (a very predictable sunburn).
