Founded in the mid-60s under the name The Screamers, Tyburn Tall is a Beat band that was not very attractive in the early days. As the 60s approached the end and musical activity increased, they must have realized this unattractive situation, so they changed the band's name and style. The date when these changes were made was 1969. From then on, it was all about hard work, some concerts and finding their place in the musical arena. In 1972, they recorded their first and only album.

Between the period when they were founded and the period when they recorded the album, they performed as the front band of bands such as Golden Earring, Renaissance and Frumpy, which can be considered a great success among the bands that suddenly rose and faded of this period. Not only that, they continue to give concerts and tours after the album's release. They perform with bands such as Amon Düül II, Ekseption, East of Eden and Nine Days Wonder. But during this period, the band members change a lot and almost no one from the original lineup remains. Moreover, when a second album was not recorded, the band, which lasted until 1975, disbanded in a short time.

Tyburn Tall, the album with the same name as the band, is a pretty good album, excluding some minor glitches. Some of the disruptions are due to necessity. The album has a primitive and raw state, recorded in a rehearsal room at home. Poor sound quality affects listening greatly. But personally, I think the real problem is the squeaky sound of the vocals. It cannot melt into the music, on the contrary, it disrupts the harmony and distracts the listener's attention.

This album is also a combination of Heavy Progressive Rock and Symphonic Rock. Although there are many symphonic effects, there is no softness in Tyburn Tall. They are harder and louder. Naturally, we can easily include it in both genres mentioned. Although it does not seem right for me to include the rising value of the period from Germany within Krautrock, it is obvious that they are close.
