Whistle 3rd register + fingerings exploration.

Responding to a request in a Facebook whistle group for information on 3rd register fingerings for whistles, this is a rather impromptu, not very carefully prepared demonstration. The fingerings shown here are not necessarily the only ones possible and different choices among the available possibilities work better or worse on different whistles. One has to experiment on the whistle in hand.

Addendum
I should note that in general narrower bore whistles (greater bore:length ratio) will perform more readily in higher registers than wide bore (smaller bore:length ratio). Almost all the other variables in design will also affect what fingerings work and how easy any may be to produce - larger or smaller tone-holesand tone-hole distribution, size of the window, "free" or "resistant" blowing (chiefly from dimensions of the windway), angle and sharpness of labium, etc. etc. Generation whistles are relatively free-blowing and have a fairly narrow bore, so go high comparatively readily.
