Instruction Set Architecture – 1
In this lecture, we are going to start a new topic Instruction Set Architecture.

An instruction set architecture (ISA) is an abstract model of a computer. It is also referred to as architecture or computer architecture. A realization of an ISA, such as a central processing unit (CPU), is called an implementation.

The topics which are covered in this lecture are:
1. What is the processing unit and what are the components of the processing unit?
2. What is the register organization of CPU?
3. What are the special purpose register: PC, IR, AC, MBR, MAR, etc.
4. How instruction is executed by CPU?
5. What is the Instruction Set Architecture?
6. What are the different types of instruction available in the instruction set?
7. What is Data transfer, Arithmetic, Logical and Conditional and Unconditional Instruction?
