Cal Tjader: Tjader (Fantasy 8406, released 1971, complete LP)

Coming off of an ill-fated experience with the Skye Records label, Cal signed with Fantays for a second time nad this was among his first releases. This album hits on a lot of popular tunes of the day, covering songs from the catalogs of Santana, Donovan, Motown, The Beatles, and even updates a song that his brother Curry Tjader performed with the Baja Marimba Band (Julius Wechter's song "Fresh Air").

This LP copy was in fairly good condition, and only has a few spots of minor noise here and there. Pretty sure this was pressed by RCA as the vinyl is very thin, as in Dynaflex-thin...we're almost talking a sound sheet here! 😁
