Watch an expert panel of women from Somalia, South Sudan, and Sudan discuss the impacts of war, conflict, and militarization on rural women in the Horn of Africa. Using an intersectional feminist lens and bringing in knowledge and experience from their work in the region, the panelists reflect on the need for the interests and voices of women from rural communities to be reflected in the WPS agendas and national budgets of their countries across the region. During the discussion panelists amplified the concerns and priorities of women from rural communities across the Horn of Africa on this international platform of the 67th convening of the Commission on the Status of Women.
