Today I sat down with moral and social psychologist, Jonathan Haidt, to discuss social media's impact on our human psyche and the effects of "coddling the American mind", which is also the name of his book! In this clip, we discussed the concept of "anti-fragility" or the idea that some things need to endure stress and pressure in order to grow and become strong. Of course, bullying is a very serious subject and needs to be treated appropriately, but the idea that we can shield each other from all mental suffering is unfortunately not possible, so finding ways to use our traumatic experience as opportunities for growth is a must.
