In this episode of our series on persuasive techniques, we discuss why storytelling (anecdotes in particular) is a very effective argumentative writing strategy that can be used in non-fiction texts like speeches, articles and reviews. Anecdotes are an excellent tool for English students to use in their own writing and this video helps you understand and analyze anecdotes in the texts you read, as well as use it in your own writing.

Everyone enjoys a good story and great writers and speakers are always great storytellers. In this video, we explore the definition of anecdotes, some great examples of storytelling in speeches and what effects using short stories in non-fiction persuasive writing has on the audience.
