🎨 Full Tutorial: How to Do Fabric Painting (Beginner to Advanced)

Fabric painting is a beautiful way to decorate bed sheet ,clothes, dupattas, sarees, cushion covers, bags, and home décor items using special fabric colors.

🧵 What is Fabric Painting?

Fabric painting is the art of painting designs on cloth using fabric colors that permanently stay after drying and heat-setting.

🖌️ Materials Required
• Fabric (cotton, silk, canvas, dupatta, kurti, t-shirt, etc.)
• Fabric colors (Fevicryl, Camel, Pebeo, Brustro, etc.)
• Brushes (round for detail, flat for filling)
• Pencil for light sketch
• Palette
• Water jar
• Tissue cloth
• Cardboard or plastic sheet (to place under fabric)
• Iron (for heat setting)

✏️ Step 1: Prepare the Fabric
• Wash the fabric without soap to remove starch
• Dry and iron it properly
• Place cardboard inside the fabric so color doesn’t leak to the back

• Lightly sketch your design using a pencil
• Simple flowers, leaves, mandala, butterflies, and motifs are best for beginners

• Take small amount of fabric color on palette

• Always paint from light colors to dark colors
• Do not add too much water — fabric paint should stay thick
