Half Hour Hobby: How to Paint a Guardsman in 30 Minutes

I'm honestly a little bemused that this Guardsman painted in thirty minutes looks leagues better than most of those in my own Imperial Guard army - shows what I might have learned in the 15 years or so since I started that force! Batch painting will also save you a lot of time, so blocking out all of the same colours on miniatures of groups of five or ten at a time will cut down the total painting time for a squad. As a bonus, this uses surprisingly few paints!

As pointed out in the video, with just two and a half hours of hobby time each week, that's 65 Guardsmen painted in three months. As you get quicker and more confident in what you're doing, you'll find that time required decreases even further! You could even skip a couple of stages here for your bulk infantry and trim time where you can; across the masses of infantry in a horde of Astra Militarum, you'll not notice a couple of missing uniform highlights!
