Today, I noticed that my old Bosch reciprocating saw was leaking its magic smoke. after Several failed attempts, I finally managed to video captured evidence of Mr. Bosch's magic smoke that he puts into all his power tools. Secret formula: It's white!

I've had other, much larger leaks from Mr. Bosch's tools, but I never managed to catch one on video before.

The PFZ 550 E had a bearing failure and spun the bearing. The bearing is an 627-2Z and I got it from VXB.com for $8 shipped USPS (not a paid promotion). It's a press fit. I pulled it with a bearing puller. To get the replacement on, I used an 8" c-clamp. With the rotor and reciprocating assembly out of the stator and on the bench, you do not need to remove the bottom of the reciprocating assembly. I did because I didn't want to mess up something inside it, but upon examination, there was nothing to be concerned about.
