Tesla and other brands are not in a position to compete with Chinese brands like BYD and CATL. BYD is world's largest battery EV producer. Tesla is no more world leader in electric vehicle industry. Tesla and other multinational brands are unable to compete with cheap EVs produced by BYD.
China is leading electric vehicle market against USA with following advantages:-

2- China control supply chain of lithium ion battery industry.
3- China has built world's largest electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
So way ahead is to invest in reasearch and development of next generation battery technology that is Solid state battery technology.
