There is no appropriate name or title we could give to these conceptions and illuminations and assumptions. They are more than poetry, more than hymn, more than meditation or rapture: they are the affording of an un-contradicted essence of conceptual, natural, human and comprehensive disclosing (containing an inspiration, a comprehension, and a scope and scale of human life). As such their unpolluted essence, exceeds the narrow parts of any ‘things’, and exceed in inspirational merit any closed attitude or regard. They have been regarded as the human nature’s, the human conceptual reality’s and substance’s ‘coming home’.

Akin to the preserved meditations of a Pythagoras, a Parmenides, a Diotima, a Heraclitus: philosophy, wisdom, intellectual being and integrity—are in alive presence and comprehending cause of experience ‘un-parted’. Never has a shared space of inspiration, comprehending so many traditions of rich expression, so potently, naturally come to the ‘Uncaused Cause’ of divine realisation and grounding. (And simplicity and grace and directness, embraces every cadence and phrase and forming)

As such they provide an undying legacy, material, and companionship—that does not ‘discriminate’, does not ‘cogitate’, but allows resolution and expression, to the inspired fulfillment, which for it is awoken and imparted.

We start by treating the section ascribed to Bharadwaja, his tradition and descendants.

The translations read are freely available online, and were published during the lifetime of Sri Aurobindo in Hymns of the Sacred Fire, in 1946 (and as such are in the public domain). You cannot translate something unless you kindredly believe in the soul and worth that in that communication is imparted. If you want to appreciate a piece of music, you have to become a musician; —if you want to understand a mathematical expression, a mathematician; —but even more, if you want to believe in genuine and unforced wisdom and witness: you have to believe that such unforced and consummate directness of conceptual and unpolluted relation is possible. As such, not believing in this, our lives and traditions have suffered as a result. Sri Aurobindo, communicating what alone could give ‘organic sense’, here has done us all a great and invaluable service.
So may we awaken to the germinal richness, stride by stride, glance by glance, inspired witness by inspired witness, which in Greece or India, or China or Egypt, find enriching, elevating, and to be imparted (and trustingly lived).

May we learn, develop, and freely and naturally engage, as the spirit and soul of these texts and traditions—in heart—wished to see founded.
