This brief filmic overview of General Motor's post War Dream Cars takes us on a journey into the design world created by Harley Earl and his staff.

We see his earliest creations, the Y Job and the LeSabre that set the standards for new cars in the Post War era. They were long, low, with headlights incorporated into the body and no running boards. Curved windshields, run flat tires, windshield wipers that automatically sensed rain and of course -- fins.

Earl set the stage with a theatrical touch like C. B. DeMille (his neighbor when Earl was growing up) that inspired the war weary country to embrace the future.
