Today I come and sit with You,
behind the veil, alone and longing.
I take communion here with You,
Your body broken, Your blood so dear.
Lord, I remember Golgotha,
the love You gave so willingly.
I come each day in gratitude
for all You’ve done for me.
At the foot of the cross I kneel,
where Your love was poured out so real.
You gave Your body, You gave Your life,
once for all, the final price.
This is love beyond all measure.
I am Yours, Your greatest treasure.
I see You hanging on the beam,
naked, bruised and torn apart.
Your beard and hair torn, Your body beaten
till You did not look human anymore.
Your blood was spilled so greatly that
You couldn't carry the beam the whole way.
Simon of Cyrene bore the cross with You
so You could fulfill Your purpose.
At the foot of the cross I kneel,
where Your love was poured out so real.
You bore my sin, You bore my shame,
past, present, and future to come.
This is love beyond all measure.
I am Yours, Your greatest treasure.
You suffered more than I could know,
You walked the depths of human pain.
You stood between us and the harm,
and took the worst, endured the shame.
I am not alone in darkness now.
You stand with me, You bear the blows.
You make me strong, an overcomer
because You overcame it all.
When I behold You lifted high,
so torn apart, yet suffering willingly,
I see the truest form of love
revealed upon that sacred place.
You gave me all of who You are.
You held back nothing, not a thing.
This is the love I now receive.
You gave Yourself to gain me.
At the foot of the cross I kneel,
where Your perfect love is sealed.
You will never let me go,
You proved it there for all to know.
There is no love that’s deeper still.
You gave Yourself, and always will.
I am precious in Your sight.
You will never stop loving me.
You gave Yourself to gain me.
And I am Yours eternally.
