Walnuts are considered be the backbone of walnut growers in Kashmir. Thousands of people are busy with this activity.
However walnut harvesters are disappointed with the current government. They said that if a walnut harvester slips from a walnut tree, causing his death or hailstorm destroys the walnuts or the rate of walnuts drops, government doesn't provide them any compensation at all.

They appealed to the LG administration to provide them compensation in such cases so that the walnut growing and harvesting industry doesn't crumble.
