LA Takedown Re-Edited (HEAT Style Ending) v2.0 - God Moving Over The Face Of The Waters

Описание к видео LA Takedown Re-Edited (HEAT Style Ending) v2.0 - God Moving Over The Face Of The Waters

This is redone and in my opinion, superior version of the video I made 2 years ago. I have gone back and re-edited the entire video and got rid of the original score for LA Takedown and added "Predator Diorama" by The Kronos Quartet while McCauley waits outside Waingro's hotel room. I've also redone sound effects and even added multiple sound effects from Heat. It flows a lot better now, the last version mainly focused on Neil McCauley's death. Only a minute or so before God Moving Over The Face Of The Waters kicked in in the last version, the Miami Vice-esque score for LA Takedown is playing and just felt very jilted. Thank you for watching this improved, updated version, hope you enjoy!!

I'll start by saying, Michael Mann's HEAT is my favorite movie of all time. To me, it's a perfect film in every way. I will also say, without shame that I own 11 different copies of Heat across multiple formats! In 1989, Michael Mann directed a made for TV film called LA Takedown which he has referred to as his prototype for his future film which was made into Heat. Given the small budget, it is difficult to have seen Heat and go on to watch LA Takedown but after multiple viewings, it is a lot of fun to watch. LA Takedown has grown on me a lot over the years and I love pointing out scenes from it that would be remade later on. As of right now, the film only exists on VHS and DVD although the DVD seems to be a direct rip of a VHS copy. For this project, I wanted to create an ending of LA Takedown that mimicked the ending of Heat using Moby's track, God Moving Over The Face Of The Waters. The version of the song used is actually ripped from a 5.1 DTS track from the blu ray. I enhanced the audio and dialogue from LA Takedown as best I could along with the audio levels of the music so everything fit nicely. Interesting note, the man who plays Waingro (Xander Berkeley) in LA Takedown would go on to star as Ralph (the man having an affair with Vincent's [Al Pacino] wife)! Also, the actor playing Vincent Hanna here is Scott Plank who tragically died in a car wreck in 2002 at the age of 43. The film "Holes" in which he starred is dedicated to him. Hope you enjoy!
