If you are interested in rack mounting your home network devices or are new to server racks, patch panels are something to consider adding to your rack.

There are a few advantages of installing patch panels in your rack. They provide easy access from the front of your rack and they allow you to modify, test, and temporarily reroute connections. In addition, patch panels are aesthetically pleasing and help with cable management especially when you have many cables.

In this video, I discuss a few types of patch panels which I have had personal experience installing as well as various types of keystones you may install in modular patch panels.
