Here in the northeast of the USA, we are so fortunate to know one another and we are definitely stronger together. By healing old premises we have found that women can be foundational support for one another when we stand for one another and for the task at hand which is to show up with the power of our love. In a world that is collectively making poor choices, it is of great consequence to develop our compassion, wisdom and responsibility for our actions. Support can help us see more of who we are in authentic ways when we risk revealing our authentic selves which is inclusive of our vulnerabilities and our strengths. In 2013 we are celebrating families at this year's Women's Belly and Womb Conference. We will raise the red tent temples up and be present to what our collective voice is sharing in our councils and conversations. http://bellyandwomb.com
I would like to give credit to the many images you are seeing here. Most of the footage was taken by Marsia Shuron Harris, Isadora Leidenfrost, Chenoa Malulani Charpentier, Alisa Blanchard, Willow's Red TT chair in TN, Meagan Forget (currently producing a documentary, The Breast Archives) or the last one from the Klosters, Luanne, Nels and Connor in the 30 day Belly Blog she began after our last Women's Belly and Womb Conference and of course myself (ALisa Starkweather). Video and photos were taken from the Bulb Show at Smith University, our beehive festooning, the premiere performances and talks at the opening of Things We Don't Talk About; Women's Stories from the Red Tent, our Women's Belly and Womb Conference, Astrid Grove and Leah Jeannesdaughter (whose work of the Red Temple is always honored in our Red Tent Temple Movement), Red Tent Temples at my own home, our beautiful community of women interweaving, Daughters of the Earth Gathering, Priestess Path Apprenticeship, our beautiful girls gracing us whose amazing mothers are Venus Zephyr Free, Naraya Ligouri and Kristin Brockett. There are countless women and some of them are Kristin Wilson, Trish Casimira, Julie Woods, Isadora Leidenfrost, and as you see Marsia Shuron Harris, Chaya Aronson, Tiffany Gray, Denise Santoro, Jessamyn Kennedy, Wendy Lyons, Angelique Walls, Jane Winans, Sheena Bhatia, Adora LaRoche, Susan, Matooka Moonbear, Ali Schueler and of course our gorgeous white haired beauty, Penelope Olson (I sat with lots of photos last night of another white haired beauty among us, Oceana). Thank you all for being so real, authentic and committed to showing up and being part of how we learn to work together.
It may look easy but true friendships require us to forgive, have compassion, deal with our inner judges, see the other's gifts, get over jealousies, do teamwork including heavy lifting, have good communication skills, get over stuff, and a thousand other skills that keep us moving forward after many years. All I can say is that this community of women has a lot to offer and leads by example. You inspire my heart and that is for sure.
