Astro Chat with Apollo 14 Moonwalker Edgar Mitchell

Описание к видео Astro Chat with Apollo 14 Moonwalker Edgar Mitchell

Welcome to the fifth installment of the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation's (ASF) Astro Chat series! Each month, we ask space fans to submit questions through Facebook and collectSPACE, which are then answered by the participating astronaut via video.

This installment features Apollo 14 Lunar Module Pilot Edgar Mitchell, the sixth man to walk on the Moon. Mitchell logged a total of 216 hours in space and established numerous records including longest lunar surface stay time (33 hours), first use of color TV with new vidicon tube on the lunar surface and the longest distance traversed on the lunar surface. Mitchell was inducted into the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame in 1997 and today continues to actively participate with the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation.
