Though coach Mike Keenan was skeptical the Rangers could win with Brian Leetch as the No. 1 defenseman, Leetch proved he was that go-to guy and scored the opening goal in both Game 7 victories in the 1994 Stanley Cup Playoffs and also won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the postseason MVP.
