We drove through Lytton to get to and from Lillooet.
You can drive through but you're not allowed to stop.
We only saw one person in a hazmat suit. It's deserted there otherwise.
Looks like some clean up has started.

But it has been 260 days.

Bless the residents of Lytton, this was heartbreaking to see, I can't imagine what it was like to leave within minutes and lose everything. Sadly two residents passed away from the fire.

June 30 2021 is the date the fire occurred, the previous day Lytton had broke a Canada record for highest temperature recorded of 49.6 degrees C (121.3 degrees F). Witnesses say they saw sparks coming from a CN train however cause it still yet to be determined.

My two eldest sons have family from Lytton.
