দ্রুত নির্বাচনের রোডম্যাপ প্রকাশের দাবি জানিয়েছে বিএনপি। জনগণের ইচ্ছা পূরণ না হলে আন্দোলনের উদ্দেশ্য ব্যাহত হবে বলে মন্তব্য করেছেন দলটির মহাসচিব মির্জা ফখরুল ইসলাম আলমগীর।

শনিবার (২৪ আগস্ট) দুপুরে জাতীয় প্রেসক্লাবে ভাসানী পরিষদের আলোচনা সভায় তিনি এ মন্তব্য করেন।

মির্জা ফখরুল বলেছেন, অতীতের জঞ্জাল কাটিয়ে নতুন বাংলাদেশ গড়ার সময় এসেছে। যৌক্তিক সময়ের মধ্যে অন্তর্বর্তীকালীন সরকার নির্বাচন দেবে, এমনটাই প্রত্যাশা দেশবাসীর। এজন্য রাজনৈতিক দলগুলোর সঙ্গে মতবিনিময় শুরু করতে সরকারের প্রতি আহ্বান জানান তিনি।

বিপ্লবকে সংহত করতে হবে, তাই প্রতিবিপ্লব যেন না হয় সে বিষয়ে সতর্ক থাকতেও পরামর্শ দেন বিএনপি মহাসচিব।

এই আলোচনায় নাগরিক ঐক্যের সভাপতি মাহমুদুর রহমান মান্না বলেন, এখনই মানবিক ও কল্যাণ রাষ্ট্র গড়ার সময়। শুধু আবেগ দিয়ে দেশ গড়া যাবে না। সরকারকে আজ হোক, কাল হোক নির্বাচন দিতেই হবে।

The BNP Secretary General also advised to be careful not to have a counter-revolution because the revolution has to be integrated.

In this discussion, the president of Nagrik Oikya Mahmudur Rahman Manna said that now is the time to build a humanitarian and welfare state. A country cannot be built with emotions alone. The government must hold elections today or tomorrow.
