The Queen welcomed the First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon to the Palace of Holyroodhouse, her official residence during her stay in Edinburgh.

The two joked about the nice weather in Edinburgh before sitting down to enjoy a private chat.

The Queen will later host a garden party at the palace as part of 'Royal Week'.

Each year, The Queen spends a week visiting various places in Scotland, and celebrating Scottish culture, achievement and community.
