Join us at Eastover, a holistic healing center for yoga, meditation, taichi, chi kung, and practice the traditional art of sketching nature. Just as mystics have sought meditative peace in the woods deep serenity, the natural world has also inspired artists of all cultures. They have applied their artistic skills to capture it with the techniques of sketching. The act of sketching requires concentration. Over time with skill, practice, and dedication, sketching can develop into a contemplative art. The artist is present in the here & now of the natural world and engaged with its artistic expression on paper. We will explore Eastover's lovely surrounding woods to capture nature's art by sketching with graphite, charcoal, or pastel.

The workshop is open to all levels, from rank beginners to advanced students and
practicing artists looking to create and share their work in community.

The artist-instructor is Raphael-Raúl
founder of The Chelsea Drawing Workshop in Manhattan
and an elected artist member of the historic Salmagundi Artist Club in New York City.

Registration is now open for the weekend workshops of:
September 25th, 26th, and 27th, 2020.
The workshops are from 10:30am-1pm and 3 pm to 5:30 pm, two classes a day.
Registration is also open for the weekend workshops of:
October 30th, 31st, and November 1st.
There is a 15 student limit for each workshop.
