First there was this time lapse movie, and then music was born out of it. It was the only time the whole arrangement came to mind as a finished piece, with its every detail, every note. All I had to do is to write it down.

The "Thames" track was never released by itself. Instead, it became the core theme for the collaboration between Virtual Mode and In'R'Voice called "Grey": https://open.spotify.com/track/75wLYF...

Virtual Mode is an electronic music project founded in 1995 at the rise of the rave culture, inspired by Prodigy, The Crystal Method, Goldie. At the beginning, there were five members until it crystallised as a duo of Alexander Golev and Sergey Sokolov.

The band tried itself in various genres: trance, techno, downtempo, drum-n-bass but mostly settled in breakbeat and lately, dark breaks with a flavour of dub and dubstep.

After having been featured on various compilations, the project released a breakbeat and downtempo CD LP "We make the beat break" sold in over 5000 copies: https://www.discogs.com/Virtualmode-W...

A few years later, Virtual Mode signed up with Kissthesound Records https://kissthesound.bandcamp.com/, which resulted in releasing the band's tracks on various streaming platforms. Some tracks were revisited, some remixed.

On this channel, we publish unreleased material and curious finds, like that wonderful fan-made pre-YouTube-era vid on "I make the beat break".
