Hey what's going on everyone! It is the weekend and I'm doing some experimental baking today and using bacon in my baking (say that five times fast hahaha) I like putting bacon in to sweet things that I bake from time to time because it blends the smoky, savory taste of the bacon with the sweetness of whatever I'm baking and it really is a nice combination. So with that in mind, today I wanted to try and make some cookies using bacon. I ended up deciding to make maple bacon cookies with white chocolate chips and let me tell you- they were very tasty. I used maple syrup for my maple flavouring and it was a nice hint of maple, not overpowering but if you want a stronger maple flavour, I would recommend trying maple extract instead of syrup. Overall though, I was very happy with these experimental cookies.

Ingredients:
-3/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
-1 3/4 cup brown sugar
-2 large eggs
-5 tbsp maple syrup or 2 1/2 tsp maple extract
-2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
-1/2 tsp baking powder
-1/2 tsp baking soda
-1/2 tsp kosher salt
-1 cup white chocolate chips
-6-8 slices of thick cut bacon, cooked and diced
