Equity is not a buzzword for us at Avtar, it is a call to action. Even as recent as five years ago, we called out for Diversity and Inclusion in our taglines. Our vision was clear - we wanted to create workplaces that are inclusive so that diversity can thrive.

Nevertheless, we were building frameworks and pathways for organizations based on the principles of equity. Even as everyone around us was talking about equality, it was clear to us that it is equity, not equality, that is the need of the hour as the field needs to be levelled up before we can pitch for equality.

It is Equity that leads to Inclusion, it is the means to the end and beyond. While we envisioned bringing more and more women back into the workforce, it became clear to us that it was by calling out for equitable practices and policies that we can achieve this. And hence we decided to bring “Equity” front and centre. In the coming years, we hope to see the transformation that equitable practices bring to the workplace.
