As Queensland’s Energy Leader at Aurecon, Paul talks about how the energy industry is a dynamic and exciting place at the moment with the transformation to renewable energy as part of the Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan.

With a target to increase renewable energy to 70 per cent by 2032 and 80 per cent by 2035, the future is looking good for a climate positive Brisbane 2032. Not only is there the opportunity to run the Brisbane 2032 Games with 100 per cent renewable energy, there's also some really exciting opportunities for the entertainment and sports precincts to use renewable energy, and also incorporate micro-grids that might use solar and batteries.

Or there might be hydrogen fuel cells involved to create a green precinct. There are also other opportunities around transport, such as using renewable energy for the train network and hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles and buses that will transport people to the Brisbane 2032 Games. These are just some of opportunities that can be implemented to achieve a climate positive Brisbane 2032 .
