The Best Doctor Cocktail - a Swedish Punsch classic

In this video, I will show you how I make the best doctor cocktail! This is a bright, refreshing cocktail with bold flavors. This recipe calls for Jamaican rum, and I prefer a lighter Jamaican gold rum like Appleton Estate in this instance. There are a few funkier Jamaican rums that I love in other cocktails, but for a doctor you really want to taste the Swedish punsch. Give it a try and you will see just how delicious this cocktail is.

THE RECIPE
1 oz. (30 ml) Appleton Estate V/X Jamaican Rum
3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) Kronan Swedish Punsch
3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) lime juice
1/2 oz. (15 ml) rich Demerara syrup*
2 dashes Angostura bitters

*RICH DEMERARA SYRUP RECIPE
In a small sauce pan, combine 2 parts Demerara sugar and 1 part water. Stir over heat until sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool.
