Synopsis:
“There are many things that I don’t like.” The traffic jam on the way to Naha, my debt-ridden father, my best friend’s boyfriend, milk, and my hometown, Shioya-wan.”
Why did my beautiful mother marry my father? Ruri tried to escape from these thoughts as she faced an uncertain future. Then, one day, she learns of her mother’s past, but…

In 2021, the Japan Cultural Expo project drew on the essence of culture and stories laying dormant in various areas of Japan and made them into three short stories.
Among them, a short story "Mom's Celestial Robe of Feathers" (written by Kumiko Takahashi), was made.

This year commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the return of Okinawa Prefecture to mainland Japan on May 15, 2022.

あらすじ：
「私、きらいなものが多い」
那覇までの渋滞、借金だらけの父、親友の彼氏、牛乳、そして地元の塩屋湾。美しい母は、なぜ父と結婚したんだろう。
漠然とした将来への不安から逃げるように瑠璃は考えていた。そしてある日、母の過去を知るのだが‥。

令和３年度の日本博事業では、令和２年度に続き日本各地に眠る文化や物語のエッセンスを抽出し短編小説に昇華するプロジェクトを実施し、３作のショートストーリーが生まれました。
そのなかで、沖縄県の組踊 銘苅子をモチーフとした短編小説「おかあの羽衣」（高橋 久美子著）が、平 一紘監督によりショートフィルム化され、オンラインを通じて世界配信も行います。
今年5月15日に本土復帰50周年を迎える沖縄県に、ぜひ思いを馳せてください。
