Mother never left, not in the slightest – she was only playing an innocent game of hide-and-seek. The Sandman’s dream has begun! The lonely nights are over as Norman teeters over the cliff of confusion and despair, but is saved by the tickling of the ivories and a smile as warm and familiar as his own still-beating heart. After trying to shut out all distractions and lifelines keeping him from his estranged beloved, Norman fitfully grapples with the incompatibility of mortality when it comes to his grandiose plan for their eternal togetherness. He tries to play by society’s rules and bury his mother like a good boy, but her stubborn refusal to come back to vivid life makes the idea of parting with her corpse an unbearable prospect. Surely Norma’s just riding out the storm and playing ’em all for fools, right? Trying to throw off her ex-husband’s scent? It ain’t that simple, of course. Two besieged and unstable men fight for Norma’s love beyond the grave, but only one of them evades the law and defies the laws of death to enjoy the company of a playful matriarch who has more than a few tricks up her sleeves. Together at last – together forever! And they all lived happily ever after…? I’m not ready to close the storybook yet (and trust me, it’s FAR from over). I’m heaping all of my love on you guys! Thank you, thank you, thank you for staying in White Pine Bay with me for all of these weeks. You’re the collective apple of my eye, and I hope to see you again REAL soon.
