If you are having trouble with your Samsung Family Hub touch-screen, you may need to restart or reboot the system. You're probably experiencing input lag from the touch-screen, or you find yourself tapping the Family Hub screen multiple times while attempting to open an application or even swiping multiple times trying to access a secondary screen. If this is the case, a reset is in order...

Many folks simply unplug the power cord from the back of the refrigerator or flip the breaker to remove power, however in some instances, this does not fix the screen. Save yourself the trouble of pulling out the fridge or flipping breakers, you can restart the hub with these three simple options while keeping the fridge powered on.

Option 0ne: Swipe down from the top of the screen and select the gear icon to access the SETTINGS menu. Next, scroll down and select, "About Family Hub". Then, scroll down to the [Restart/Reboot] section and tap RESTART. The screen will shut off and restart.

Option Two (preferred): Open the screen door, at the top of the door (on right), you should see an access panel. Push up on the cover to reveal a red, toggle switch. *Note, the switch is labeled in binary (0 = OFF, 1 = ON). Whichever orientation your switch is in (it may be flipped in different models), just know the white dash (or 1) is the ON position. Flip the switch to the OFF position and wait approx. two (2) minutes. Your screen will be OFF at this time. After two minutes, flip the switch back to the ON position and the screen will reboot.

Option Three: The Secret Menu. At the bottom of the Family Hub screen, you will see five (5) icons. Locate the recent applications icon (typically, in the 2nd position--which looks like two squares, stacked), press and hold down on this icon for ten (10) seconds--your screen will flash and the "SYSTEM RESCUE MODE" is now displayed. You have the option to Cancel/Restart--choose this option. *NOTE: In the settings options as well as the System Rescue Mode, you will see "FACTORY DATA RESET" option. This should be used as last resort to fix the issue. Keep in mind, this will set the entire system back to default, causing you to lose all photos, videos, settings, network configurations, etc.
