Heli-Cats is an upcoming Shoot 'Em Up by DrearyWeary, real name Tony Chin, who primarily made various indie comics and visual novels, so this is him making something with proper gameplay for the first time. And it's actually very solid?

The primary gimmicks of this game is switching elevation to dodge attacks from enemies, with the bullets color coded to show you from which elevation they come from (orange/yellow is high, red is low).

The other is the Focus System, where you need to kill enemies with your regular shot to get ammo for it and when you kill an enemy with a focus shot, they drop power up orbs. They also delete the "bolder" colored bullets, which also depends on which elevation you are on.

It can take a while to get the hang of it, but once it clicks, it's becomes very fun to play. Point blanking is also needed to dish out damage, but you want to make sure you back off before the enemy attacks, because there is no bullet sealing in this one.

In the full game, the trial mode will only let you play the first two stages with infinite lives, so you can't cope with it when you try to 1CC the game properly, just like Ikaruga.

This is version 0.7.13, which addresses some of the feedback from the players, such as adding an auto-fire button, bomb drops in Stage 2, increased damage for Cat-B Focus Shot and tweaks to the power up system.
