Every year Google hosts its annual I/O event to announce the new goods
and services they are going to offer. This year the event took place on the
18th of May. And Google announced thousands of new things to be
launched and upgraded. 

But some things are important than others, so here is a list of the 10 most
important announcements made at the annual event.

10 Most Important Announcements

1. Android 12
A peek at the new design of Android 12 was given at the event, which has
been given the name; Material You;. The Android 12 comes with a bunch of
personalization options for its users, including custom colors, redesigned
widgets, and a smoother interface. Google has also launched the first beta
version of Android 12 for the users to test features.

2. Smart Canvas
It has also announced the Google smart canvas which is a collaboration
between various Google tools.

“To insert smart chips in your work, simply type "@" to see a list of
recommended people, files, and meetings. From web or mobile, your
collaborators can then quickly skim associated meetings and people or
preview linked documents, all without changing tabs or contexts,” Google
wrote in a blog post.

3. Better Camera
Google is also upgrading its camera app which would include making the
camera more sensitive towards the darker skin tones.

4. Lamda AI language
It has introduced what it calls the breakthrough conversation technology,
the LaMDA conversation technology, which is driven by Artificial
Intelligence.

5. Project Starline
The company announced project Starline at the conference, it creates a 3D
model of the person sitting across using high-resolution cameras and
sensors.

“Project Starline is currently available in just a few of our offices and it
relies on custom-built hardware and highly specialized equipment. We
believe this is where person-to-person communication technology can and
should go, and in time, our goal is to make this technology more affordable
and accessible, including bringing some of these technological
advancements into our suite of communication products,” Google said in a
blog.

6. Google And Samsung Collab
Google is merging its WearOS and Samsung's Tizen to a platform called
'Wear', which would better the smartwatches with longer battery life and
faster performance.

7. The Better Photos App
Google is updating the photos app with better features. The photos app will
allow users to make animated photos using still shots and also, it will now
have the feature to password-protect certain private photos. So you can
hide the pictures you want.

8. Google Dermatologist
Google will enable an AI-driven dermatology assist tool to help detect
certain skin conditions using the camera app. It says the new technology
will help the screening process of breast cancer and detect tuberculosis
easily.

9. AI-powered Google Maps
The maps app will now provide information about the routes which will
safeguard the users from hard braking moments.
“We’ll automatically recommend that route if the ETA is the same or the
difference is minimal. We believe that these changes have the potential to
eliminate 100 million hard-braking events in routes driven by Google
Maps each year,” the company wrote on a blog post.

10.Digital car keys
Certain pixel phones and Samsung Galaxy phones can now be used as
digital car keys with the launch of Android 12. Earlier BMW was the only
carmaker that supported the Google car key feature.
