Bastle Instruments Kastle minimodular trio in a first jam attempt, featuring Korg Monotron Delay as a welcome guest 😊

Kastle Arp is the third, most recent release of the quirky Kastle minimodular gear designed with love by Bastl Instruments in Brno, Czech Republic. In this jam Arp is on the front stage, with Drum performing some background counter rhythms and Kastle v1.5 providing a low drone and a slow moving pattern which influences the other two Kastle. Monotron Delay adds interesting rhythmic counterpoints which might become somewhat chaotic especially at the end…

I’ll try more experiments with cross modulations between the Kastle in the future, as well as adding some sequencing via Korg SQ-1.

The breadboard at the bottom is a handy way to ensure that all three Kastle share the same ground, as well as simplifying the cross connections when needed.

Additional utilities are the fantastic, compact mixer VMIX-10 from Tangible Waves (incredibly useful device for Korg Volcas and Kastle minimodulars) and iRig Stream Pro from IK Multimedia to record quality audio on the iPhone 13.
