Thomas De Boer, Vice President of Commercial Road Transport at Shell – presented how the transport sector can decarbonize through collaboration and innovation. Shell is evolving its product range to meet changing customer needs and is collaborating with customers and stakeholders across the transport sector to find effective ways to reduce CO2 emissions.

How the transport sector evolves will have a major impact on society’s climate protection goals. Already, commercial road transport globally consumes more than a quarter of the world’s energy and emits a fifth of energy-related carbon dioxide.

For more than a century, Shell has been integral to people’s everyday journeys to work, transporting family, friends and goods. In response to climate change, Shell has set itself a target to become a net-zero emissions energy business by 2050 and has changed its business structure to accelerate its drive for net-zero.
