Jaipur forms the Western corner of the Golden Triangle and is the capital of the Rajasthan province. Often referred to as the Pink City, the walls of Jaipur’s inner city are painted a vibrant terracotta. A maze of bazaars and bustling streets, this shopping mecca is also known as the Paris of India. As far as romance and charm goes, Jaipur does not disappoint with an abundance of intricate palaces and historical sites from the Hawa Mahal (also known as the Palace of Winds) to the magnificent Amber Fort. Another notable feature of the Pink City is the grand City Palace which is a nod to the opulence and prestige of Jaipur’s royalty. When travellers are not hunting down Jaipur’s famed jewellery, you can find them studying the wealth of artefacts in the Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum.
