Returning to Kyoto: My Japanese Hometown 🇯🇵♥️ // Japan Vlog

I couldn't return to my real hometown this year, so I returned to Kyoto instead!

In case you didn't know, Kyoto is my Japanese hometown. I moved to Kyoto in August 2019 and lived there for 18 unforgettable months. I moved to Tokyo in March of 2021 to seek more creative opportunities, but the most difficult aspect of this move was not the distance and packing all of my things, but rather leaving my close circle of friends behind.

Going back to Kyoto this time was bitter sweet - I felt grateful for all of the friends I've made in Japan, but saddened by the fact that most of them are across the country from me now (a choice that I made). Walking around the city that I used to call home, part of me couldn't help but wish that I had stayed...
