ANAMOSA, IA (CBS2/FOX28) - It's your typical small-town feel. When the green light changes and you pass through Anamosa, you'll see your local tavern and several other shops. But with the blink of an eye, you might've passed something that's brought you some big-city productions. "We have clients coast-to-coast," co-owner Mark Whitmore said. Twisted Pair Post is a video production house working worldwide. "We've worked in Hawaii," Whitmore said. "We've worked in Puerto Rico, we've worked everywhere." Whitmore and his co-owner, Ken Kemper, were always innovative videographers. They used to work in television news and other media companies. "We always just thought maybe we could do this a little better, so it was one of those things where we were playing racquetball and we were kind of coming up with an idea," Whitmore said. More than a decade ago, they gutted an old Mexican restaurant and changed the entire building. It was transformed to fit their vision and now they're creating a vision for others. They use copters to capture harvest video and more. Kemper said what motivates him is his clients. "They're seeing (the video) for the first time, and I sit in the edit suite. Whether I'm animating or editing, I'm going over it and over it and over it to make sure everything's right," he said. That repetition and determination is what lands them big-time gigs. "We've done stuff for the Ben Carson campaign here recently," Whitmore said. Kemper said it's about focusing on quality. "You can get it up to 95 percent, squeezing out those last percents of quality in really making it right is time well spent," Kemper said. Whitmore said they're currently working on a campaign for a wireless internet service.
