Howdy! John with etrailer. And if you're looking for a way to attach side accessories onto your Slimline without having to do any kinds of modifications or permanent damage to your platform rack, then you're going to want to look at the universal side mount from Front Runner. Now, being that it is a universal bracket, it's going to give you two attachment points on the inside right here to use for really anything that you may need to use. I have a SYLVANIA three-inch light POD on here right now that I use for if I'm out on a trail and I need a little bit of extra light, but you can use it for basically anything from hatchets and shovels on the side of your vehicle for getting yourself out to recovery boards. Whenever it comes to attaching it to your Slimline, they're going to be fixed-point brackets, so they're going to attach to any one of these holes on the underneath of your Slimline. So you're gonna wanna make sure that you're going to have the amount that you need.

There's three brackets that you get with this kit, but there are actually eight holes per side that you can use to put them wherever you need. I have two on each side for the lights, and I have a third one that, if I want to use it for something else, I can do so. Now, when it comes to the installation, it is an extremely simple addition to your Slimline. All you have to do is add a couple of bolts on the inside. You're really just going to need an Allen wrench and an actual 13-millimeter wrench, and then you'll be ready to rock and roll.

But let's check that out now. To start your installation, you're gonna wanna pop off one of these corner brackets, and there's going to be a little bolt that you're going to undo. Once you get that off, it's going to open up these channels, and you're going to be putting the nuts in there. Before you slide the bracket on, you are going to have these cage nuts that come with your brackets, and you're just going to take them and pop them in place. Once you have the cage nuts attached, you're gonna want to have the orientation to where these two spaces are going to be on top, and then the hole's going to be on the bottom.

And you're gonna take one of your nuts and pop it inside the channel. You're gonna wanna make sure there's two of them and make it run down to wherever you're going to install the bracket. When picking a place to put this on your platform rack, you're gonna wanna look right where the hole is. We're gonna put ours right here, and we're just going to move the nuts down into place. And then you're going to take your bracket and kind of move it into position, wherever works best.

And what I like to do is use the Allen to move it into place, and then you're going to take one of your bolts and then pop it into position. Always make sure whenever you're attaching the bolts to have a washer present, and once you just get it at least started, it will start to put a little bit of tension on the inside. I'm gonna get the other one as well. (bolt rattling) And that's a good way to make sure that you're attached to the nut is to just pull up and see that it is attached. Now, before fully tightening down on the two top ones, you're going to want to put your bolt and nut on the underside. So kind of find where the hole is. It's a little farther down here. And then you can just hold it in position, and then, on the backside, put the nut on. Once you get it attached, you're going to want to take a 13-millimeter, and we are going to slowly attach it with the Allen wrench. And once you get it fully tightened on the bottom, just make sure that it's all good and ready to go. You can tighten the top two fully. From here, you've got it fully attached, and you're going to be putting whatever accessory you happen to be adding. I am going to be putting the SYLVANIA light POD on there, and you're going to want to take your bolt and then add a washer and a lock washer. Okay, I'm just going to get it hand-tight real quick. Once you know you got it on there, all you gotta do is tighten it down with your Allen, and once you make sure that your accessory is secure, that's gonna be it for the install.
