Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Awareness Programme Organised at Ganderbal
Under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan with the theme “UMEED”, an awareness programme was organised by 13 Bn SSB, Dignibal, Ganderbal, in collaboration with saving the Future, NGO today on 23rd November 2025 at the Royal Institute of Paramedical Sciences, Ganderbal J&K, with the objective of spreading awareness about the ill effects of drug abuse and promoting a healthy, drug-free society.
The programme was organised with active participation of social activists, educationists, students, medical professionals and representatives from civil administration.
The event was graced by Miss Nighat Aman, SSP, as the Chief Guest. The Guests of Honour included Shri Dhiraj Pathania, Offg. Commandant & Second-in-Command, 13 Bn SSB, Miss Naziya Bashir, Principal of the Institute, Mr. Altaf Ahmad, Chairman Ganderbal Municipal Corporation, and Dr. Fara, Senior Superintendent, District Hospital Ganderbal.
During the programme, prominent speakers shared their views and experiences on the dangers of drug abuse and the collective responsibility of society in combating this menace. The speakers included Dr. Tauseef (Social Activist), Miss Saima Tabasum (Social Activist), Mr. Ajaz Kashani (Religious Figure), Miss Mariya Rukhsar (College Student) and Mr. Bilal Bhat (Social Activist). The speakers emphasized that drug abuse is not merely an individual problem but a serious challenge affecting society and the nation’s future. Special focus was laid on guiding youth towards the right path and motivating them to contribute positively to nation-building.
The presence of dignitaries, subject experts, media representatives and enthusiastic participation of students highlighted the importance and sensitivity of the issue. The role of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), in addition to border security and internal security, was also appreciated for its continuous efforts towards social responsibility and public welfare through awareness and civic action programmes.
The programme concluded with an appeal to all stakeholders, especially youth, to remain vigilant, spread awareness and actively support the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan for a healthier and drug-free India.
