Second part of HSRP configuration tutorial. In this video, we configure basic switch settings for all the cisco switches in our topology.

Basic settings includes:
hostnames, console and telnet password, management vlan ip.

We shutdown all network interfaces so that we can see the progress and effect of each commands as we progress to the rest of the video.

We also configured the routers which will act as nodes on the network. We disabled IP ROUTING on each of the routers in effect they are just a node on a network: they are not acting as routers anymore. This is a quick way of simulating nodes in the topology. No need to get laptops or computer just to test basic network connectivity.
