In a country like ours where there is undue importance still given to siring a male heir

There is often a lot of pressure and expectations placed on the mother

There is even a lot of blaming and shaming her when she is unable to birth a boy

This is very wrong and unfair and hopefully should change with the next generation at least

But,did you know that the sex of the baby is determined by the father and not the mother?!

Our eggs are going to contain only X sex chromosome

But the sperms from the man may have X or Y sex chromosomes in equal proportions

So depending on which sperm fertilises the egg,the resulting embryo may be a boy or girl

X + X containing sperm=Girl (XX)
X + Y containing sperm=Boy(XY)

So next time,you see someone blaming the woman for not giving birth to a boy baby

Tell them to ask the father
And stop
Blaming the mother 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️
