In Biblical times, a flowering olive tree symbolized abundance and beauty, which tell of a righteous person and their ability to thrive under terrible situations, with flourish and abundance. Psalms 52:8 says, “But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. I trust in the steadfast love of God forever and ever.”

Olive oil is also a symbol of restoration for God’s chosen people. We see this in Joel 2: 23-24: “Be glad, people of Zion, rejoice in the Lord your God, for he has given you the autumn rains because he is faithful. He sends you abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before. The threshing floors will be filled with grain; the vats will overflow with new wine and oil.”

The olive tree gives us hope that God neither fails nor goes out of season, and with Him on our side, we remain unshakable.
