At the end of June 2018 the London International Club hosted the premiere spearfishing event of the calendar, the pairs competition. Open to all divers across the United Kingdom pairs can dive anywhere they want, they just have to be at the Pulpit Inn for the weigh in at 4pm. Andrew (Halibut master) and I decided to dive around Portland Bill to maximise our time in the water and have the chance to catch all six species on the score sheet. They are mullet, pollock, cod, flat fish, black bream and due to the bass ban this year, gilt head bream.
