2009. Aftab Shivdasani called that there's a movie he's a part of. It's called "Aaloo Chaat" and they need a love song and hence I wrote the first love song of my life "Dharkay Jiya". I can't explain in words how amazing making and singing this felt. One day, I'll perform it with a string section while I sing and play the acoustic and will make sure you are able to watch that moment.

You know when I was recording the vocals for this, I left one part intentionally. I wanted to sing that part in an unaware mood with my voice unready. I decided I'll sing it a few minutes after just waking up one day. Without warm up, without any breakfast. Just in that moment of not being entirely awake. So, that day came and I just expressed that part in one go. Felt so damn good. I was just wondering, can you people guess that part?

Sami Khan helped me write this. I had written the whole song but there was a place where I was stuck in the second verse and then Sami wrote these two lines.

ye raasta gum ho ga
ye darr tumhein hai na
mein aas paas hee kahoon
itna yaqeen tau hai na

.. and it was complete 🙂 So, this is a piece of my heart for you to revisit.
