Twas 31yrs ago but seem like just only yesterday when Revivalist Mel served in the United States
Navy & was stationed in NAS Adak, Alaska. We agreed & obeyed God to take the orders & to move
our family there & how wonderful twas that we received many blessings. During the 3-4 years there, we assisted as missionaries on the island & helped orchestrate an all-island revival where we
took it to the streets & ministered in praise songs (Voices of Judah), thru dance (Trinity) & The
Word of God w/the saints of God, to the residents there, civil service employees, & visitors, etc.
ALL on Adak Island.👍👍🏾👍🏻👍🏽

Adak Island has been the home to Aleut peoples since antiquity. Adak Naval Air Station was a
military base during the Cold War but was designated a Base Realignment & Closure in 1995 &
closed in March 1997. Shortly thereafter, the town of Adak was incorporated at the former base.

ADAK has a subpolar oceanic climate, characterized by persistently overcast skies, moderated
temperatures, high winds, significant precipitation and frequent cyclonic storms. Adak first
appeared on the 2000 U.S. Census as a census-designated place, although it previously was the
Adak Naval Station from 1970 -1997.

ADAK "The Place" which could remind you of the old, timed movie "Gilligan's Island. A place where there weren't any trees, lots of sand (tundra), big eagles & black birds, etc. island for sure.
