Since its first air date, it is broadcast at 06h30 PM (Eastern/Pacific)/05h30 (Central/Mountain). At the moment of publishing this video, the newscast is anchored by David Muir on Weekdays (Monday-Friday), Whit Johnson is anchor on Saturdays, and Linsey Davis anchors each Sunday.
“Did ABC World News Tonight have other names?”
Yes, it had other names. The newscast is called ABC World News Tonight only from July 10, 1978. Before that date, it had these names: News and Views (1948-51), After the Deadlines (1951-1952), All-Star News (1952-1953), John Daly and the News (1953-1960), ABC News (1960-1962; 1969-1977), Ron Cochran with the News (1962-1965), Peter Jennings with the News (1965-1967) and ABC Evening News (1967-1969; 1977-1978). Even the ABC WNT name had its changes! Entre 1978 y 1997 it was called simply World News Tonight, then between 1997-2006 the ABC name was added at the beginning, between 2006-2014 it was called ABC World News, and in 2014 returned to the ABC WNT name.
